On Wednesday 25 February, US President Barack Obama named former Washington Governor Gary Locke as his nomination to be considered to fill the post of Commerce Secretary.

Locke becomes the third public official to be nominated for the controversial post after the Governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson and New Hampshire senator Judd Gregg withdrew their nomination due to tax issues and disagreements with the President over the census and the economic stimulus plan.

US President Barack Obama looks like he is sticking firmly to his promise to close down Guantanamo Bay.

Today he signed three executive orders for theclosure of the  Guantanamo Bay prison camp .

All overseas CIA detention centres for terror suspects will also be shut down.

This is encouraging news, but I share the argument of many that where will the 250 inmates go?

I have another question: If they are freed, don’t the administration need to consider how dangerous these people are to society?
